Earlier today, I spent some time reflecting on what has changed in the past 6 months.  I am quite amazed with the changes in attitude that I now have.  For quite some time, I’ve been releasing on a lot of junk but I wasn’t able to really see how much my life had changed.

But now I see a marked difference:  My whole attitude towards life is significantly more positive.  I used to very doubtful about myself and on my skills, but now I see that I naturally have a lot more confidence.

The key for me was merely about shifting focus.  Rather than focusing on what I don’t want, it’s far more rewarding to focus on what I do want. 

This isn’t about positive thinking.

I still believe that if a person attempts to achieve a goal without clearing emotional clutter,  he or she will likely fail.  However, I often took it to the other extreme by ONLY looking for clutter and clearing it out (which did work), but since I was only focused on negativity, that’s all I kept my attention to.

Now, I use the Release Technique and other methods in a much healthier manner:

1)  Focus on what you want
2)  Feel what it feels like to have the desired outcome here and now
3)  From this positive state, be aware of any resistance to having the goal
4)  Again from this positive state, let go of the resistance (using NLP, EFT or whatever)

As simple as this may sound, it’s remarkably more powerful than just using any of the above methods.  The reason being that if you are in a much more positive state to begin with, and look at the negativity from that context, the negativity is much easier to remove than when you feel ‘stuck’ in it. 

Having used this particular approach for some time now, I feel a LOT more positive overall!
